Simon Hodson has more than 30 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer working in the City of London and internationally. He has broad corporate finance experience and particular expertise in regulated businesses.
Simon was the Senior Partner of international law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP for two elected terms from August 2005 to November 2015. During his ten years as Senior Partner the firm grew from a turnover of £90m with 6 offices in the UK to a turnover of £200m with offices in 11 countries and over 2,200 people. Since stepping down as Senior Partner of DAC Beachcroft LLP, Simon has taken on a small number of non-executive directorships and keenly supports the growth and development of those businesses.
Cameron Parry is a corporate strategist and public company driver who has built numerous start-ups, pre-IPO and stock market-listed companies for more than seventeen years across industries including: mining & exploration, financial technology, life sciences and agribusiness.
Cameron joined First Equity as Joint CEO and significant shareholder in early 2017. Cameron’s recent public company initiatives include: creating London Stock Market AIM-listed natural resources investing company Metal Tiger PLC (LSE: MTR) as founder and inaugural CEO (from 2014 to 2016); co-founding Coinsilium Group Limited (NEX: COIN) as Executive Chairman and building it to become the world’s first IPO of a blockchain fintech company (Dec 2015); and creating the vertically integrated gold company Lionsgold Limited (LSE: LION) that evolved into Tally® - the physical asset monetary system and banking platform provider of which Cameron is CEO and Founder.
Paul Henry is one of the original founders of First Equity. Having identified a gap in the restructuring of The London Stock Exchange for ‘Big Bang’ happening in 1987, he created and established First Equity in 1986 - the UK’s first equity interdealer broker, servicing the wholesale market made up of the ‘Market Making Community’.
Paul has remained CEO of the firm since incorporation and is Head of Institutional & Retail broking; servicing the firm’s institutional clients and many of its corporate investors and high net worth individuals. In 2000, Paul was part of the team that reinvented First Equity as an agency broker offering execution only, advisory and discretionary services to institutional and private clients.
Jeremy has been Chief Operating Officer of First Equity since 2011, having responsibility for the company’s operations, finance and compliance. His current FCA-approved controlled functions include those of Compliance Oversight and Money Laundering Reporting.
Prior to First Equity, Jeremy spent 12 years with Nomura International plc where his roles spanned business manager for equity derivatives, Chief Administrative Officer for pan-Asian equity sales and trading, and head of equity business management. He had previously worked for 8 years for Nomura Option International plc (a global OTC equity derivative trading unit) as manager of operations and finance. He also worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert Limited, Philipp Brothers and Ernst & Young – the latter where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) in 1979.
